Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto pair up in ‘Precious Hearts Romances presents Lumang Piso para sa Pag-Ibig’

Real life sweethearts Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto will top-bill the next Quikilig special of Precious Hearts Romances, Lumang Piso para sa Pag-Ibig. Since becoming a couple, the two had the chance to work together only twice, one for an episode of Your Song and in the teleserye Prinsesa ng Banyera. Oyo talked about his excitement over this PHR project that pairs him with his beautiful girlfriend. “Masaya na magkasama kami sa isang project. At least magkakasama na kami sa work. Ang hirap kasi kapag taping lang niya, pangit naman kung lagi akong nandun, baka maka-istorbo lang ako. Pero nadadalaw ko naman siya minsan.”

Kristine also talked about her character in the afternoon romance mini-series. “Ako si Sandra. Laki kasi ako sa lola kaya para akong matanda kung magsalita. Nung bata ako laging sinasabi sa akin ng lola ko na one day mami-meet ko ‘yung prince charming ko. Simula noon naging fairy tale na ang expectation ko sa buhay. Pero nung namatay ‘yung lola ko, naging mag-isa na lang ako.”

Lumang Piso para sa Pag-Ibig is a love story between the characters of Sandra (Kristine) and Dave (Oyo). When Sandra inherits her late grandmother’s old house, she decides to have it fixed. But without enough money, she sells an old coin of her grandmother’s to Alex, an antique collector. However, a few days after, Sandra is haunted by her grandmother’s ghost. She figures the only way to make the haunting stop is to get back the coin. Sandra asks for Alex to return the coin, but he says he will only do so if she gives him back the money. As they try to make an agreement, Sandra and Alex will slowly become attracted to each other.

Unlike the past PHR chapters that had some sexy love scenes, Kristine said that Lumang Piso para sa Pag-Ibig will just be a wholesome romantic comedy. “Light romantic comedy lang ito. Wala nang sexy scenes o love scene.” She added that she accepted this project so she can take a break from heavy dramatic roles she had done in the past, the last being in the primetime teleserye Dahil May Isang Ikaw. “Ayoko muna mag-drama. In the past years puro kasi ganun ang ginagawa ko. Gusto ko pahinga muna ako sa mga drama. Itong PHR iba naman sa mga nagawa ko dati.”
