Andi Eigenmann says she never intended to leave ‘Agua Bendita’

Despite her delayed appearance on the primetime soap Agua Bendita, Andi Eigenmann claimed that she knew from the start that ABS-CBN had no intention of dropping her just because her young counterpart Xyriel Manabat has a huge fan base. “Ay hindi po talaga ako natakot kasi sinabi sa akin ng management na hindi po nila gagawin yun. Na kahit anong mangyari Agua Bendita is a love story and that the character will end up as a lady and not a kid forever. The thing is, in-inform naman nila ako early enough namade-delay po talaga. Even nung nagkaroon ng mga issues tsaka misunderstanding, I look at it as a good thing talaga kasi I have more time to prepare for my role,” she confidently said in an interview during Agua Bendita’s pool party at the Imperial Palace Hotel yesterday, March 25.

She also set the record straight about the rumors that her mom Jaclyn Jose was disappointed with ABS-CBN management because of what happened to her character. “Hindi po nagalit yung mommy ko. Wala naman siya sa posisyon para gawin yun. Kahit ano mangyari, everything will come from the management, from what the people want. Wala naman po kami magagawa dun. Nagtatrabaho lang po kami. Siguro dahil sa misunderstandings at first na parang medyo malabo yung pagkaka-explain sa mommy ko nung pagkaka-delay ng paglabas ko. Nasaktan po siya, nanay ko po siya at ayaw po niyang natatapakan ako or nasasaktan. Pero hindi naman siya nagalit.”

While it is true that Jaclyn had talks with ABS-CBN’s rival network during the whole mix-up, Andi explained that it doesn’t mean that her mom didn’t want her to finish taping Agua Bendita anymore. “It’s not about that actually. My mom was basically just broadening my options po para lang maialis ko sa utak ko yung sakit or kalungkutan [dahil sa nangyaring delay]. Pero ginawa lang niya yun dahil gusto niya akong makitang masaya. Para ‘wag ko ma-feel na wala akong kakwenta-kwentang tao, parang ganon. Pero hindi ibig sabihin tatalikuran ko yung soap kasi kaya nga po ako nandito dahil gusto ko ito,” she stressed.

As she finally makes her debut on Agua Bendita tonight, March 26, Andi only has one request to all the avid followers of the soap. “Ngayon siguradong-sigurado na ito. Sobrang excited po ako pero I am really hoping talaga na kung paano yung suporta na binigay ng mga viewers kay Xyriel, dun sa batang Agua Bendita, ganon din po yung ibigay nilang suporta sa akin. Kasi pina-promise ko talaga na I really prepared for this. Inaral ko ito ng mabuti para masatisfy ko po ang viewers,” she beamed.
